Hi, I’m Emily but everyone calls me Squirrel…

I currently live in the most beautiful mountain town , Whistler BC - sometimes I have to pinch myself because I can’t believe how fortunate I am to live in such an exciting and adventurous place.

I started working for a local photography company here in Whistler, and soon found a love for photographing people. I loved hearing all the different stories people had to tell, and why they chose to visit Whistler. Often there is a really special reason as to why people choose Whistler as their wedding destination, and I get a real rush out of capturing these memories for them.

Client Reviews from Whistler Wedding Photography

  • Veerle & Scott

We absolutely loved working with Emily! My husband and I had never gotten professional pictures taken before, but Emily made us comfortable right from the initial Zoom call all the way through our entire wedding day.
She has incredible attention to detail, brings a great energy and was able to capture candid moments from our ceremony, speeches and reception from SO many different angles, without being distracting at all. When we received our gallery it felt like there was more than just one photographer!
The pictures turned out beautiful and like everything we wished for. Emily was able to capture each part of our wedding day so wonderfully. She also gave us great tips on what to do and suggested some incredible locations for portraits. It will be very hard to choose which ones to frame, as we love them all!

  • Macy & Aidan

We are so thrilled with our decision to hire Emily as our wedding photographer! On our wedding day, she brought a calming and reassuring presence while collaborating seamlessly with our other vendors. She captured every special moment with such grace and without ever being intrusive. The photos are absolutely breathtaking, perfectly showcasing the emotion, beauty, and all the little details of our day. The blend of posed portraits and candid moments tells our love story in the most beautiful way, and our friends and family haven’t stopped raving about the stunning quality. . .

  • Emily & Chris

Had an amazing experience with Emily Serrell for our small wedding in the fall of 2024. We really appreciated Emily's ease, attention to detail, and professionalism. As two people with zero experience having professional photos taken, and a limited imagination for the kinds of shots we wanted, we were happy to turn over the reins to Emily, and she did an absolutely fantastic job directing us, managing our time, and keeping everything running smoothly. We received a ton of sneak peek photos right after the wedding, and the full album is stunning. As someone who usually does not photograph well, I am so, so happy with the pictures! Plus, Emily was just a really lovely person, and blended in so well with our small, intimate wedding.

  • Erica & Jason

Emily was an amazing wedding photographer! We were immediately drawn to her ability to shoot beautiful landscapes in addition to portraits, and she absolutely captured our vision for our wedding photos. Plus, my partner and I generally consider ourselves a bit uncomfortable/awkward in front of the camera, but she was such a pleasure to work with that the whole day felt effortless. I would highly recommend Emily to anyone!

  • Rhianna & Sean

Emily is truly incredible at what she does. It absolutely poured rain on our day and our ceremony was outside. She captured every beautiful rainy moment and the result is the most dreamy, moody, whimsical photos! She was so kind and kept everything on track despite the torrential downpour, cranky toddler and general chaos of the day. Grateful to Emily for her kindness, professionalism and artistry. We are blown away by your incredible talent Emily!
