Pemberton Engagement Photography | Kelly & Dave

I headed up to Pemberton to meet Kelly and Dave to photograph their engagement, we decided to meet at One Mile Lake. A beautiful park located just as you enter Pemberton with a boardwalk and trail around the lake.
Pemberton is a beautiful village located 20 minutes drive north of Whistler, and offers rustic charm with spectacular views of Mount Currie. Pemberton is a quiet farming town - famous for growing potatoes!

When I asked Kelly if there was anywhere really special to them both in Pemberton, she responded with One Mile Lake and the old Pemberton Festival Grounds.
It was really fun to visit the areas that hold such great memories for the two of them, and photographing their connection while in that space.

Here’s a little of what Kelly had to say:

"We love Pemberton and it was really special that Emily came here to take photos in our favourite spots. Dave and I have both lived in the Sea to Sky corridor for a long time and we knew of each other but didn't really 'know' each other up until the summer of 2016 when the last Pemberton Festival was held here. Our first date was Pearl Jam playing an amazing show, capped off with a full moon rising over Mount Currie and fireworks. Talk about a first date! So it was really neat to go back to the festival grounds (with permission of the landowners) to take photos as it's where our stars aligned. We also both love music, so to say Pearl Jam was the last band to ever play the festival and it was our first date is pretty darn awesome.

Our other special spot is at One Mile Lake where Dave proposed on the quiet and private dock by the bridge. The walk around the lake also holds very fond memories of walks with family, his dog Wylie before she passed and just all the awesome people we know and catch up with when we walk around the lake.”
